Most Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take for my child to improve?

The answer to this questions varies as widely as the individual differences of our students. There are so many different factors which determine a student's progress that it is impossible for us to predict how long it will take. Some students will find that within one term they are feeling more confident and achieving higher levels, while for others the process is longer. Many of our students started with the intention of only staying for one term but have found the service so beneficial and enjoyable that they have stayed until graduating from high school.

Can I pay lesson by lesson or do I have to pay up-front?

Lessons are booked on a term by term basis and must be paid in full before lessons commence.

Do I have to pay for the lesson if my child can't attend for some reason?

Yes, once a booking is made that time has been purchased and cannot be sold to anyone else.

Do you set homework?

This depends on whether or not you want us to set homework. We are here to support our students and to help them achieve their best. We believe that doing study and review tasks at home helps learners to retain what they have been learning and to become more proficient. However, we realise that students and families have busy lives and it is difficult to fit everything in. We are very flexible in regard to homework. Just let us know how much time you have available and we will adjust accordingly.

Are you open during the school holidays?

Sometimes, depending on student needs and the availability of tutors? If you would like holiday tutoring it is best to call us to discuss your needs.

Do you use computers?

Whether lessons are delivered online or in real life face-to-face formats computer programs and apps are simply tools in the teacher's tool box to be pulled out and used when appropriate. We are not like some of the major tutoring franchises where you will find that 'individualised' services rely completely on computer programs. Our lessons are student orientated and our students have the full attention of their tutor.
